If you like chocolate, you need to try Zak's Chocolates!
Sibley's West's newest supplier is chocolatiers Maureen and Jim Elitzak, who produce award-winning chocolates in their Scottsdale kitchen.
The pair love chocolate and starting making it in 2011; they opened their business in 2015.
They will be at Sibley's West from 6 to 8 pm Friday, Dec. 15, for a tasting during the Chandler Art Walk.
The evening also features a visit by talented Tucson artist Diana Madaras and a trunk show with Lisa Stotska of Got All Your Marbles? jewelry.
As you can see in the video, Maureen and Jim produce a variety of different chocolate flavors with cocoa beans from around the world. (You may also know them from their products used by Peixote Coffee in Downtown Chandler.)
At Sibley's West, we feature four different bars:
Haiti: A light, mild dark chocolate.
Nicaragua: Deep and dark chocolate.
Belize: A fruity, honey-like chocolate that is different from other chocolates you'll taste.
Guatemala: A dark chocolate with a burst of raspberry.
For the Dec. 15 tasting, if you purchase three bars of Zak's Chocolates, you will receive a "Golden Ticket" to attend a Chocolate 101 class led by Jim at the company's Scottsdale kitchen between January and April. The 45-minute class is a $10 value.
