This is a series of posts spotlighting Arizona businesses that share their products with Sibley's West, as part of the "Small Business Boost" award efforts of 3TV/CBS 5, BNC National Bank, the Arizona Small Business Association and Cox Business.
Carly Quinn opened the Carly Quinn Designs ceramic tile company eight years ago, about the time Sibley's West opened.
The Tucson company has grown just like Sibley's, and now employs eight craftspeople.
Her Desert Floral tiles are featured at sibleyswest.com.
Carly Quinn Designs is known for their vibrant colors and Southwest themes, created using a wax-outline technique called "cuerda seca." She describes the process in the video below.
Carly graduated from The Art Center Design College in 2007 with a bachelor’s degree in illustration and fine arts, with a minor in graphic design. During college she began working in tile under a local Tucson artist.
After graduating, she held a number of positions in the print and digital media industry, plus time with a tile company, while also working on her own designs.
In 2011, Carly turned her side project into a full-time career and launched Carly Quinn Designs.
She now works with some of the top designers in southern Arizona to create one-of-a-kind and limited-edition specialty tile lines, custom countertops, mural, back splashes and other various tile designs for commercial and residential projects.
