Diana Madaras and Sibley's West: Boosting Arizona Businesses

Posted by John Wolfe on 12th Jun 2019

This is a series of posts spotlighting Arizona businesses that share their products with Sibley's West, as part of the "Small Business Boost" award efforts of 3TV/CBS 5, BNC National Bank, the Arizona Small Business Association and Cox Business.

One of our more prolific suppliers is the talented Diana Madaras, nine-time winner of Tucson's Best Visual Artist honor.

Diana provides bold Southwest color and warmth her in watercolors and acrylics. Sibley's West features a variety of her giclee canvases, prints, notecards, and tiles. We also have her cutting boards, trivets and jewelry boxes.

She was one of the store's first suppliers, which provided an immediate boost to the enterprise.

As she says, "Painting fills me with joy." Diana is a colorist who celebrates the subtle, natural beauty of ordinary scenes in a way that is both intense and dramatic. She operates the Madaras Gallery on Swan Road.

She has a diverse portfolio — from brilliant desert landscapes to expressionistic portraits.

Much in demand for commissioned artwork, Madaras has completed paintings for Westin, Loews, and Miraval Resorts. She also has created eight paintings for the estate of the former President of Mexico.

Madaras is very active in community service and her art has benefited more than 100 charities.

Here is a video that came out with her autobiography, "Private Spaces."
