Sibley's West is excited to announce that Diana Madaras, the multi-talented Tucson painter, gallery operator and animal-care advocate, will return to the store for a meet-the-artist event from 6 to 8 pm Friday, Feb. 21.
Diana is one of Sibley's original 55 suppliers from its opening in December 2010. Her colorful images of desert scenes, animals, homes and mountains are reproduced on prints, trivets, canvases, notecards and more items for anyone wishing to share Arizona with friends and family.
She has two new pathways with her art -- Spirit Animals and the Masters series -- which will be detailed in future blog posts.
The Spirit Animals are of an unusual design, with desert creatures small and large depicted at night on a black background.
The Masters series is Diana's homage to the styles of the greatest artists of all time -- including Van Gogh, Picasso and Klee -- through Southwest saguaros.
Diana has made several visits to Sibley's West, the most recent in 2017. It is a great opportunity for her fans in the Valley to see her and catch up on her new works.
We also have copies of her autobiography, "Private Spaces."
Here is the video that was created in conjunction with that effort.
Hope you can join us on Feb. 21!
